Growth Mindset is so much more than mathematics, and I want my kids to be willing to talk about mistakes in other aspects in life, making it easier to share them about academics.

"Why should I freak out about making a mistake on my algebra when everyone was supportive about me accidentally pooping my pants!"

or something like that. :-)Justinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13309915942161862912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7363356760450940988.post-64241135506048781872016-08-17T17:06:56.928-04:002016-08-17T17:06:56.928-04:00Hi Justin! Are you planning on giving any parameters around what types of mistakes to focus? Should they be mathematical? Should they be related to math class? What about the mistakes that you are sharing? What type of mistakes do you anticipate sharing?Nicole Hansenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08614672180467225580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7363356760450940988.post-42045457541379618882016-08-13T14:49:44.094-04:002016-08-13T14:49:44.094-04:00Justin,

Can't wait to hear more and see the results. Might I also seed future thoughts like: #tacticaltuesday, #wisdomorwishfulwednesday and #throwbackthursday (ok last one may have been borrowed!) I love the idea ...I agree with all of this, Justin. I love the idea of highfivefridays and being human. I am always a stronger teacher when I admit my mistakes. One thought is that by Monday - I often don't know what the heck happened the week before. Others might have (almost certainly do) more prodigious memories than myself - but I think in would need to include some sort of visuals from the week before to help jog my memory.
That said, this could be an excellent way to help students and myself remember what we're working on! And if you include mistakes not made in math class - could be a great way to learn more about your students. Great idea, Justin!Annie Perkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17164706237592123504noreply@blogger.com
